How to Deal With the Evil Villains of Your Story
What do I mean by villains? Well, I mean those people in
your life that can bring you down. Those strangers that grunt and glare are
you. Or your boyfriend’s mother that for some unknown reason, hates you with
every fiber in her body. These people bring happy and positive people down.
Sometimes it’s not intentional and they are just having a bad day. Other times,
they are out to hurt you and make themselves superior. Either way, here are
some tips to not let those villains win!
Remind yourself that
you are an amazing person! Basically, have confidence. Which I know isn’t
easy to achieve. I wish we all could just clap our hands and gain confidence.
Wouldn’t that be amazing? Haha. But unfortunately, this isn’t possible, so we
have to gain confidence all by our lonesome. I could write a whole book on
confidence, because it so vitally important. If you don’t have confidence,
research it online, check out books at a library, or simply just fake it.
Faking confidence will eventually give you some real confidence. I do not recommend
doing only this. But it is a quick
fix if you can’t do anything else!
Anyway, hold your head up high. If you have confidence, it’s
going to be harder for mean people to burden you. Plus, if you have confidence,
whatever they say to you won’t have any emotional effect on you. You will
already know who you are and what you believe in. Why should one person ruin
that?
Smile. When
someone is rude to you they are looking to make you sad. They want you to have a reaction! If you just smile and
not have any bad reaction, this will aggravate them. Remember, all they are
trying to do is make you feel smaller than them.
Balance. If you
have negative people in your life that you can’t get away from (like rude
customers in retail), than you need to balance it out by getting more positive
people in your life. It will seem like those negative people don’t even exist
when you can go home and be surrounded by people that are happy and care about
you!
Try and be
empathetic. Realize there is probably a reason that person is being cranky
and mean to you. Maybe they got into fight with their husband, maybe they are
unhappy with their lives, or maybe that evil mother is just afraid to let her
son go. Know that their outwardly lashes are not your fault. Something in their
life is happening and they are taking it out on you. Granted, this isn’t fair
at all, but why should you let their bad times ruin your day?
We will always run into a down in the dumps person. But we
shouldn’t let them affect our daily lives. Being happy is tricky, and I hope
after reading this you cannot let those villains win your story!
