How I Get My 'Beachy' Waves

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

I recently found an amazing way to style my short hair. I love this look because it looks so natural and 'beachy'. My hair naturally goes into a weird bob that isn't very flattering. But now I found a secret that makes my hair look oh so pretty! This style technique is simple and works with any length of hair!

 1. Wash your hair! Well, at least get it super wet. The product I use in this only works on super damp hair (I tried on dry and failed miserably). I take a shower in the mornings when I use this product and then brush it right after. My hair is too wet straight out of the shower, so I usually make breakfast or put make up on while I wait for my hair to air dry a bit.

2. Time to Spray! When my hair is still wet but not dripping, I spray this amazing product all over my hair. It's called "Not Your Mother's Sea Salt Hair Spray". So far, so good. This product has worked pretty well so far and I'm excited to try more of their products.

3. Scrunch Your Hair. I start from my roots and scrunch my hair all the way to the ends. I do this for a few minutes, usually watching TV! It was so hard to get a picture of this, but I think I did okay!

4. Let it dry! Again, this styling technique is easy peasy. It's perfect for those mornings were you don't have a lot of time to style your hair. I leave my house right after my scrunching and it's dry by the time I start work!

After it dries, which takes about a half hour to an hour for me, you'll get some pretty waves in your hair. I try not to use this product every day, because sea salt can quickly dry out your hair. But I guess that's what deep conditioner was made for! Here's the finished product after my hair dries! Yay for funny faces~!

Let me know if you also use sea salt spray! Do you make your own or use something else? I'd love to know. Happy Tuesday!
