I am so excited. I finally bit the bullet (what a weird expression) and got Sims 4! I love Sims, and have a pretty decent collection of Sims 2 and 3. But to be honest, I was a little reluctant to buy Sims 4. Granted I only waited 2 weeks after it came out. But for someone who is practically obsessed with the Sims series, this was a big deal for me.
I was nervous at first because I think it's ridiculous that they (being EA) didn't include everything that was in Sims 3 into Sims 4. No toddlers, pools, or open worlds. I thought that new versions of a game were supposed to be better.
The more I play it, however, I forget about the little things. The game itself is amazing! I didn't have any expectations and I'm still pleasantly surprised! If your a Sims lover, or even if you just love a good video game, buy Sims 4! I'm not being paid or anything, I just think it's a great game. And here's why!
1. Sims Have Emotions!
One of EA's focus was to make Sims more weird. And they succeeded! Playing with emotions is a lot of fun. It gives the Sims more depth.
2. Less Bugs/Lag
So far, so good. Sims 3 was super glitchy and was constantly lagging for me. I have had no problems with Sims 4.
3. B.E.A. utiful
Have you seen how pretty this game is? The graphics are top notch and the worlds are so colorful! I thought it would look too cartoony but I like it this way. And custom content can always help!
4. More Challenging
I got bored with Sims 3 after awhile. But with Sims 4 (even though it's still new) it's more challenging. Bills are way higher, so it's more relatable to real life. Also, it's more interactive with the sims lifetime goals. Instead of one huge goal to reach, there are little goals along the way. Same goes with promotions! This makes me want to play more, I love having goals to accomplish.
5. Controlling Sims
There's no open world but they let you control Sims when you're not even there. For example, if one of your sims went to the gym, you can focus just on that Sim. However you can click on other Sims' icons and tell them to go do stuff even if your not playing the (go garden, eat, clean, etc).
Sims 4 has a long way to go, but so did Sims 3! Expansion packs and custom content are what makes Sims even more incredible.
I can see why people are pissed about Sims 4 missing parts that were in Sims 3. I was too, until I saw what they did for Sims 4. The best way to look at it is think of it as a totally different game, not the next Sims.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my small rant! Have you played Sims 4 yet? Let me know in the comments!
