1. Say Goodbye to Dramatic Friends. If your friend always seems to cause drama, maybe you should start looking for new friends. Sure, friends are supposed to be there for one another when the going gets rough. But what if it's always going rough? A lot of people cause drama and stir up lies just for the fun of it. Usually because they are unsatisfied with their lives and want more excitement. But this is not okay! You don't deserve to be in their spin of drama. Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is a drama queen or just really unlucky. I always go with my gut, and stir clear of these people.
2. Stop Caring What People Think. People can be mean. Sometimes they'll target you and spread gossip about you. No one wants lies spread about them. But usually getting involved in gossip, even if it's about you, will put you in the middle of the drama. If you stop caring what others think, the people spreading the gossip will back off. Besides, if someone believes something nasty about you just because they heard it, you shouldn't be friends with them anyway!
3. Be Confident! This ties in with the one above. People are less likely to begin drama with you if they can't see your weakness. Mean people prey on the weak. Show them you like who you are and are above all the petty drama. And if they still try to stir something up, refer to #2.
4. Think Before You Act. Sometimes it's you who accidentally causes drama. Maybe you said something you shouldn't have. Or maybe you did something that hurt someone else. Whatever the case may be, stop and think! I used to have word vomit. I would say whatever was on my mind, never thinking of the consequences. If what you have to say won't help in any way, it's best to keep your mouth shut. Or better yet, think of how to say it without causing any anger!
5. Maybe It's You. Sometimes it's hard to admit that we're the drama queens. But it's okay! If you find yourself in constant drama and it's not your friends, maybe it's you. We all have things to work on, self improvement is a good thing. So reflect on your life and be more self aware, that's the only way to true happiness.
I hope my tips helped. A lot of them are a tad obvious, but sometimes we all need reminders. Here's to a happy calm life. Cheers!
