Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4 - The Dead are ALIVE!

Thursday, November 5, 2015

Like the past three episodes, this one starts off with a scene from three years into the future. This look into the future is so adorable, because Alaric has twin daughters! And he's living a normal, happy fatherhood life. But then Damon shows up and it's clear they aren't friends anymore. This whole three yearsqa in advance is driving me crazy! I just want to know what's going on. This scene definitely makes me excited for the future revelation.

In episode 3, Valerie killed Oscar to prevent him from revealing where Julian was hiding. Damon comes back to his before heavily sedated vampire, to a blood stain gurney, He eventually finds Oscar's corpse stashed in a locker. This is extremely bad for him because if Lily finds out that Oscar is dead she will automatically assume Damon killed him. And last time Damon killed a heretic, Elena's body was stolen and Caroline was held hostage. The heretics tend to overreact quite a bit in this show. So Damon goes to Alaric and Bonnie, who are about to use the phoenix stone on Jo. They instead do the spell on Oscar to hopefully bring him back to life.

While Damon is trying to figure out how to bring this dead heretic back to life, Lily is growing suspicious. They didn't meet as promised so she assumes something is wrong. She tells her heretic minions to go to Caroline's college and be their nasty selves. They tell Caroline and Stefan that they're going to start killing off college students every hour that Oscar is missing.

Stefan and Caroline come up with a plan to distract the heretic duo. They trick them into going to a devil and angel theme ball at the college. This pair of heretics are so adorable together, but there is trouble in paradise when a bartender flirts with Nora. Luckily this drama helps Stefan and Caroline keep a few lucky college students alive. Their drama also helps remove the spell Valerie put on Caroline's skin.

At first both said they wouldn't help, because they didn't want to get on Valerie's bad side. But Stefan and Caroline hold Mary Louise and Nora hostage and use their love to threaten them to remove the curse. Thankfully they didn't go after Stefan and Caroline when they woke up after the threats, but I'm guessing this isn't the end. But Stefan and Caroline are reunited and it feels oh so good. Finally able to touch each other the two have an epic kiss that made me squeal in happiness. I love Caroline and Stefan together, I'm kind of obsessed.

Damon, Bonnie, and Alaric finally get a spell to work and bring Oscar back to life. Damon quickly takes a hilarious selfie with this heretic and plans to meet Lily to trade him for Elena. But Oscar isn't himself and is incredibly thirsty like a newbie vampire. This becomes a huge problem when he jumps out of Damon's car while in Mystic Falls. Oscar finds the only people in Mystic falls, a Halloween tour bus. He rips open the back door and brutally murders all the passengers.

Lily shows up and scolds Oscar. Apparently Oscar has always had a blood control problem. He's like Stefan and has to control all his blood intake. Which makes us question if this thirst is because he was given too much blood, or is it a side effect of being brought back to life? Which we will find out in the next episode because at the end of this one, Jo opens her eyes and takes her first breath. Jo's back baby! Yay!

Now that Lily has Oscar back she gives Damon the coffin Elena is resting in. But not without some unwanted input on Damon's love life. She tells him that he's afraid to find out who he is without Elena. And that holding on to her is only going to hurt him. Lily may be crazy, but she does have a point. Damon luckily takes his mother's advice and calls Tyler to take Elena away to keep her safe. He plans to find out who he is without her. I'm so happy for him, he has grown so much from the beginning, it's crazy.

This episode was awesome. Can we talk about how adorable Nora and Mary Louise are? This is Vampire Diaries first gay couple and they couldn't have picked a cuter duo. I'm so stoked to see how Jo is after being brought back to life. I can't wait!
